This month, we are spotlighting a long-time Mahjong Time player: Rui Machado (username Drago3). Hailing from Portugal, Rui has been playing at Mahjong Time since all the way back in 2006! All of the MCR players throughout the years have definitely noticed the skill that Rui brings to the MCR tables! We got the chance to ask Rui a few questions:

Q: What is better: playing live or playing online?
A: Are two different games, playing live you “feel “ the players and you need to know the rules very well to count the points. Playing online is a great option to meet different players, and learn a lot!

Q: On the subject of online play, what kind of advice would you give to the online player?
A: First remember to players that Mahjong is consider a diplomatic Chinese game and people must keep the same face winning or losing. Second I remember a sentence from a Mahjong friend: “ a good Mahjong lesson always cost a lot” so I suggest to new players to choose very competitive tables to play, in the beginning will cost a lot of points but will be a great Mahjong lesson,.
