Announcing: Sanma Rules!

We are very excited to announce that Sanma 3-player Mahjong has been added to Mahjong Time’s rule sets! Sanma is heavily based on Riichi, with a few key differences:
  • 3 players instead of the traditional 4 (no North seat player).
  • The 2~8 tiles in one suit are removed. If the dora indicator is a 1 in this suit, the 9 of the suit becomes the dora instead of the 2.
  • Faster gameplay because there is one less hand and relatively more tiles available to the three players.
  • No ability to make a chow from a discard

Sanma is now available at Mahjong Time, and we invite all players to try out this exciting and unique new rule set!
